Pretium is committed to integrating a sustainable business approach that embraces environmental, economic and social stewardship, enhances innovation and efficiency, and enables us to contribute to wealth creation for all our stakeholders. The fundamental driver for this commitment is that a sustainable business approach enables us to positively impact and influence diverse stakeholders in varying contexts. We believe a sustainable business approach benefits our neighbours, our employees and users of our products across the globe.
We have selected five priorities that will form the pillars of our sustainability approach. These priorities reflect those issues that we believe are important to us as a business and to our stakeholders.Our five sustainability priorities and commitments are:
Environment
We will maintain our reputation in the marketplace for supplying plastic and packaging products that are manageable, durable, safe, easily transportable, economical and fully recyclable. We will proactively adopt materials, technologies and manufacturing practices that minimise adverse impacts on the natural environment.
Our Community
We will engage the local community by supporting and participating in community-based initiatives that contribute to well-being and a positive quality of life. At a local level, a sustainable business approach enables us to contribute to social and economic development through job creation and our support for local suppliers. It also helps us contribute to an improved quality of life by enabling us to maintain a stable natural environment for our local communities.
Our People
We will seek to maintain an innovative and motivated workforce by continuing to develop our staff, and providing them with a safe, fair and positive work environment.
Health & Safety
We will minimise risks of injury and harm to our staff, the local community and the public at large, by proactively managing hazards and risks associated with our activities.
Marketplace
We have an international impact as our products are used by diverse customers across multiple sectors in different parts of the world. This provides us with a unique opportunity to share the positive sustainability benefits of our products with many users in differing contexts and markets.
Because of the different resins, manufacturing processes and end-markets we serve, our plants in Etten-Leur, Netherlands and County Cavan, Ireland each embrace very different ways to bring sustainable packaging solutions to our customers.
